Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her assistance and dedication to increasing South African Social Security Company (SASSA) services through an engagement together with the agency's senior administrators in a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled within the 2024 matric exams.
From the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing eighty one% of the registered pupils in the instruction sector.
These learners realized a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates that the investment government is creating during the lives of weak and susceptible youngsters is yielding a positive effect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe stated.
